Went to the dealer today, car was banging on 50% of the cylinders (note it was all 4 on the drive there a yesterday). Limped it the few miles home after paying like 100 bucks for basically making my car worse.

They checked plugs, all good. Coils, all good. Compression test, outstanding. They proceed to tell me after getting 140psi on all 4 I have a bad valve seat and I was misfiring on 2&4. Once they said that I said put it back together I'll fix it myself.

Get home and pull all the plugs and coils and check them myself. Noticed the dealer put the coils leads in the wrong (supposed to be black to back front to white). Switched them around and pulled my injectors out, they were noticeably gunked up. Cleaned them and imagine that car runs like it's new.

Gonna dump a can of seafoam through it and call it a day. Done working with that dealership.

Careful with the injectors, you need knew o-rings if you pull them out. I inspected mine and put them back in and it leaked. Glad to hear its running better and you have started the long process of elimination for trustworthy mechanics already. Seafoam might help, but it only delayed my injector issue. New injectors were the only solution for me. I knew they were full of crap when they told you the valvetrain was toast...bunch of tossers.

A dab of Vaseline will help reseat old O-rings, if you don't want to get new ones. They're cheap enough though, might as well spring for the things I guess

When it comes to a high pressure fuel system. I would 100% get new wear items like o-rings. Cheap insurance.
